Business Travel Insurance
If you're heading away for a conference, meeting clients, or visiting another office, it's important to have travel cover in case things don't go to plan.
We don't offer a separate business travel insurance policy, but you could still get cover for emergency medical costs, cancellations, and lost baggage or gadgets under our Holiday Extras Travel Insurance, as long as your trip doesn't include manual work or using specialist equipment. Find out what's typically included and what's not with a travel insurance policy.
What Is Business Travel Insurance?
Business travel insurance is designed to protect you when travelling for work. At Holiday Extras, our travel insurance can cover some work-related trips, as long as they don't involve manual or physical work. This includes meetings, office-based training, and other admin-based travel that fits within your policy terms. You'll have access to the same key benefits as a leisure trip, like emergency medical cover, cancellation protection, and gadget cover for your work laptop or phone.
Just keep in mind that business income or contracts aren't covered, and you'll need to get in touch with us before travelling if your trip involves any manual work or specialist equipment.
Read our policy documents here.
What Does Our Travel Insurance Cover?
Travel insurance can cover you for many of the same things on a business trip as it does for leisure travel, as long as you're travelling within the policy terms and your work doesn't involve manual or physical tasks.
What's typically covered:
- Medical emergencies while you're away
- Trip cancellation or curtailment for valid reasons
- Lost, stolen or damaged baggage
- Gadget cover for your work laptop, phone or tablet
- Legal costs and expenses related to incidents while travelling
- Personal liability if you accidentally cause injury or damage
- Personal liability does not cover any business-related claims.
What's not:
- Manual or physical work abroad
- Business income, contracts or company losses
- Specialist equipment or tools used for work
- Trips outside the geographical areas or durations shown on your policy schedule
- Anything not covered under your individual policy terms
- Business-related personal liability claims
You can use our Activity Checker to confirm whether your work or planned activities are covered with Holiday Extras.
Is an annual insurance policy a better option?
If you travel regularly, an Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policy could be a more convenient choice. It offers ongoing cover for multiple trips within a 12-month period, so you don't need to buy a new policy every time you travel.
