Sports and Activities Travel Insurance
For some people, lying on a beach basking in the sun is the perfect holiday, but for many people, taking part in activities and sports is what makes a holiday dynamic and exciting. It's important to make sure that you've got suitable sports travel insurance cover and protection for when you take part.
As well as covering many sports, we consider most pre-existing medical conditions and provide emergency assistance for the duration of your trip. You can choose from bronze, silver or gold cover levels to book a level of cover that suits you and your trip.

Get a QuoteWill travel insurance cover me for sports and activities?
Our travel insurance policies come with a large amount of sports and activities covered as standard. There are a number of activities, though, that require additional cover. This includes any winter sports or activities deemed to be 'higher-risk'. If your activity falls under either of these categories, then you will need to purchase the relevant add-on to be covered. This can easily be done at the time of booking.
Most insurance providers will have a few activities that they will not cover. These activities will be highlighted as excluded, and you will not be covered if you choose to take part in them.
What sports and activities are covered under my policy?
There are many fun sports and activities that are included in our policies. Some of these as an example include:
- Golf
- Swimming
- Yoga
- Hiking (below 2,500 metres)
- Zip lining
- Paddle boarding
- Surfing
- Scuba diving (down to 30m and with qualified instructor)
- Windsurfing
- Recreational sports such as, rounders, tennis, basketball, volleyball
This is just a small fraction of what's covered. For the full list of activities and sports, please check the activity checker table and your policy documents.

If you're planning on taking part in some adventurous activities during your trip, these may not be covered as standard. However, by adding the extended-risk add on to your policy, you can enure you're covered for any activities that might be classed as 'higher risk'.
Some activities are classed by insurers as higher risk because they involve a greater chance of injury or danger. That's why you may need to pay a small additional premium to make sure you're fully covered.
If your activity requires the extended risk add on, this will be stated in your policy documents. You can also refer to the activity checker.

Let us answer your questions
Does my travel insurance cover golf clubs?

Does travel insurance cover mountain biking?
Yes, mountain biking is an activity that is covered as standard in our policies. This does not include downhill competitive or mega avalanche mountain biking.
