Who owns Holiday Extras?
Holiday Extras is employee-owned through an Employee Benefit Trust, alongside ownership by the management team led by Group Chief Executive Matthew Pack and the Pack family. Matthew, son of the founder Gerry Pack, has been Group CEO since January 2015.
Holiday Extras was founded in 1983 by Gerry Pack, who saw an opportunity to make booking airport hotels easier for holidaymakers.
Our Story
For more than 40 years, Holiday Extras has been providing ancillary travel services and helping travellers find the best value deals. Our team of experts know everything about taking the hassle out of organising a trip.
Over the years Holiday Extras has expanded from airport hotels into travel insurance, airport parking and short breaks, moving online in 2000 and growing into Europe. By the mid-2000s it had rebranded, opened its Kent campus, and acquired major brands like BCP, establishing itself as a leading provider of hassle-free holiday add-ons.
Since 2015, under the leadership of Gerry's son Matthew Pack, Holiday Extras has continued to expand through acquisitions such as Purple Parking, Chauntry and City Hotel Reservations. A 2018 management buyout placed a majority of shares into an employee benefit trust, strengthening employee ownership.
More recently, the company has invested in new tech, returned to TV and radio, expanded internationally with facilities like Parkhaus Munich, and backed partnerships such as Transferz.
