Cancellation and cutting your trip short - If you need to cancel your trip or cut it short, we’ll help you get back any non-refundable costs - from flights and transfers to hotels and tours. You’re also covered if someone you’re travelling with, or a close family member, falls ill or is injured, so you can change your plans with confidence.
Missed-port & itinerary disruption - If your cruise skips a planned port - whether that’s down to bad weather or a change in schedule, we’ll pay you a set amount for each missed stop. It’s there to help make up for the experiences and time you were looking forward to at that destination.
Cabin confinement - If you’re unwell or injured on your cruise and advised to stay in your cabin by the ship’s doctor, we’ll pay you a set amount for each full 24 hours you’re confined. It’s there to help make up for the time you miss out on enjoying your trip.
Unused excursions - If you miss a pre-booked excursion because you’re confined to your cabin due to injury or illness, we’ll help make up the cost.

Everything that you get with Holiday Extras Cruise Insurance
If you fall unexpectedly ill or need emergency medical help during your trip, our cruise policy covers your medical costs and transport. This includes repatriation from the ship to the nearest hospital, or back to the UK if needed
If you need to cancel or cut your trip short due to unexpected events, this policy will reimburse any non-refundable costs. That includes flights, transfers, hotels, and tours. You're also covered if a family member or travel companion falls ill or gets injured, causing you to change your plans.
If your cruise ship is unable to stop at a scheduled port of call — for example, due to bad weather or changes to the ship’s timetable — our policy will pay you a set benefit for each missed port. This helps to make up for the loss of time or activities you may have planned at that destination.
If you become unwell or injured during your cruise and the ship’s medical officer tells you to stay in your cabin, our policy will pay you a benefit for each full 24-hour period you are confined. This is designed to compensate you for the time you miss out on enjoying your holiday.
If you're told to stay in your cabin by the ship’s medical officer and can’t go on any pre-booked and pre-paid excursions as a result, our policy will cover the cost of those missed activities. This means you’ll be reimbursed for any excursions you’re unable to join due to illness or injury that keeps you confined to your cabin.
Our cruise policy provides increased cover for personal possessions. It also covers the loss, damage or theft of any evening wear by covering the additional costs to repair or clean it. If needed, we’ll also pay towards hiring a replacement outfit so you can still enjoy your formal nights onboard.
If you have selected an annual policy, you’ll receive a benefit if your flight is delayed by 2+ hours. Simply register your flight 12 hours prior to departure and choose your benefit - either airport lounge access or a £25 per person cash benefit (up to 7 passengers, on the same policy). We’ll then track your flight for any delays of 2+ hours and automatically issue your benefit if eligible.
