Need to know

Purple Parking is a great, affordable option, with plenty of security to ensure your car is safe while you're away.

When you arrive just park in one of the arrivals bays and check your car in at reception. You'll need to leave your keys with them so your car can be moved to the secured area of the car park.

Catch the bus to the terminal from outside reception. It takes 12-30 minutes, runs every 20 from 4am to 11.40pm and it's included in the price. If you need to get to or from the car park outside these times you'll need to pay for a taxi.

When you return catch the bus back to Purple Parking, from bus stop 17, pick up your car and head back home.

Accessibility

The car park is fully accessible for customers with limited mobility.

When you arrive let reception know immediately that you have a mobility vehicle.

Security

The car park is secured by:

  • Perimeter fencing
  • Entry and exit barriers
  • CCTV
  • Park Mark award

The small print

In August 2023, London's Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) expanded to include all terminals at Heathrow Airport. This is part of an initiative to help tackle air pollution.

If your vehicle doesn't meet ULEZ standards, you'll need to pay the daily ULEZ charge when driving through Heathrow – make sure you check before you travel.

If you're planning on returning early try and give the car park as much notice as possible so they can have your car ready for you.

Staff are at the car park 24/7, so if you arrive between 1am and 4am your car can be released. If your car is parked for over 16 days it may be moved to Purple Parking's alternative secured site nearby.

Early or late? The car park offers a grace period up to midnight at their discretion. Any longer than this and you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £20 per day. This is subject to seasonal change and you'll need to pay by card.

Help us go green! There's no need to print out your booking confirmation, you can show it on your mobile device.

Returning to a different terminal? Don't worry this car park runs shuttles to both terminals. On your way to the airport ask your bus driver where to go on your return.

Larger or commercial vehicle? The car park has changed its terms and conditions meaning that some larger vehicles are no longer accepted. If your vehicle is one they won't accept you'll be charged an additional £25 per day when you arrive. Please read below for full details and check whether the car park will accept your vehicle before you book.

Purple Parking Park and Ride cannot accept:

  • Commercial vehicles or mini buses of any variant.
  • Single or double cab pickup trucks such as Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux or Nissan Navara.
  • Medium panelled or windowed vans such as a VW Transporter, VW Caddy, Ford Transit or short wheel based vehicles of any description.
  • Large panelled or windowed vans such as a Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, Renault Master, Ford Transit or long wheel based vehicles of any description.

  • Failure to comply to the above, you will be charged an additional £25 per day.

Getting to and from airport

Arriving at the car park

When you reach the car park, drop your car off in an arrivals bay and unload your luggage.

Check in with reception and hand over your keys, then all you need to do is catch the bus from the bus stop just outside. If the weather's bad you can wait inside instead.

The bus takes 12-30 minutes, runs every 20 from 4am to 11.40pm and it's included in the price. If you need to get to or from the car park outside these times you'll need to pay for a taxi.

Returning to the car park

When you return catch the bus from where it dropped you off. Your car will be waiting in one of the collection bays, so all you need to do is pick up your keys from reception and make your way home.
