Help and support for travellers affected by the coronavirus outbreak
Last updated: 1st April 2020
We've created this guide to help you stay safe and make an informed and responsible decision if you're planning (or returning from) a trip overseas during the coronavirus outbreak.
As usual, the best thing you can do is check the government's travel advice for any destination you're thinking of visiting. We've provided a link to all the relevant government advice below.
The key tool for preventing the spread of the virus is impeccable hygiene - please see the NHS's guidance for some great tips.

UK government travel advice
The UK government advises against all non-essential overseas travel because of coronavirus, and there are a number of countries which are either closed to all foreign visitors, closed to UK visitors in particular or require a period of quarantine or isolation on arrival (making most travel there impractical).
You should check the status of your intended destination on the government website.

What is coronavirus?
A coronavirus is a type of virus. As a group, coronaviruses are common across the world. Typical symptoms of coronavirus include fever and a cough that may progress to a severe pneumonia causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Generally, coronavirus can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
