What time is the cheapest time to travel to Tenerife?

Everyone wants to get the best possible value for money when they book their holidays. This can mean browsing flight comparison tools and scouring voucher websites for what seems like an eternity to find the best deals. You'll need to book flights, airport transfers and accommodation, as well as any activities or excursions you want to do, and the time of year can have a huge impact on how much this will cost you.

Ask yourself what is important to you.

The best time to travel to Tenerife depends on the type of holiday you are after. Will you spend your time enjoying the nightlife in the island's bars and clubs, or would you prefer to explore the island, soak up the culture and relax on a secluded beach?

Expensive times

The busiest times to holiday in Tenerife are July, August and Easter – essentially, the weeks that coincide with the school holidays. Holidaymakers may choose to travel to Tenerife during the summer months to enjoy the island's vibrant nightlife and extensive itinerary of beach parties and music festivals. February is especially popular with partygoers, as this is when Tenerife hosts the world's second largest carnival – after Rio de Janeiro's – every year. Christmas and New Year's Eve are also busy in Tenerife, as holidaymakers enjoy the seasonal festivities. Therefore, unfortunately, those looking to make the most of the nightlife and parties Tenerife has to offer are likely to spend more than those in search of a quieter sojourn.

Cheaper times

If you are willing to take your holiday outside of the summer season, you will be able to save money. The cheapest months include March, April, May (excluding the Easter period), October and November. The temperature in Tenerife rarely dips below 18°C in these months, so sightseeing, hiking and other activities are all still possible – and there will be fewer people on the beaches.

Some things to bear in mind…
