Windsor Castle highlights:

  • State Apartments: Ceremonial Rooms and Historic Rooms

The ceremonial rooms are the main State Apartments that are used today by the Royal Family. Visitors can explore striking rooms such as the Grand Reception Room and the Waterloo Chamber.

  • Semi-State Rooms

The Semi-State Rooms are the private apartments specially designed for George IV. The lavish interiors were decorated by Morel & Seddon and feature exquisite furnishings and fittings sourced from Carlton House, George IV's former London residence. Please note: The Semi-State Rooms usually open from autumn-spring each year.

  • Queen Mary's Dolls' House

This extraordinary miniature doll's house was built between 1921 and 1924 for Queen Mary and is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Delight in the many, fully-furnished rooms of the house including a grand saloon, dining room, library, fully stocked wine cellar and a garden. No detail was forgotten - the house even has electricity, running water, and functional lifts.

  • St. George's Chapel

St. George's Chapel, the place of worship at Windsor Castle, is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England. It has been the site of many royal weddings, including the wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

  • Moat Room

The Moat Rooms features a bronze model of Windsor Castle as it stood in the year 1377. Expertly crafted with insights from the latest research of how it looked in the past, the model offers a glimpse into the grandeur of one of Europe's most renowned medieval palaces.

  • The Long Walk

The Long Walk is a scenic avenue that stretches over 2 miles from Windsor Castle to the Copper Horse statue, depicting King George III on horseback. Take in iconic views of the Castle and the surrounding parkland.

  • The Round Tower

From a height of 65.5 metres, The Round Tower offers stunning panoramic views of the Castle grounds, the town of Windsor, and the surrounding countryside.
