"Offered an upgrade to a pitch view room upon check in but we politely declined. However we did book a taxi to our port terminal for the morning, as it could be busy with 3 ships in. Our room view was of a golf course and wooded Southampton, a very green city it would seem, and not unpleasant at all! Room ambience was great, mattress comfy, and a fantastic large walk-in shower. Dinner and breakfast overlooked the pitch, with a good choice of quality food and drink available. Watched some early Sunday morning training over breakfast. Was a little way to the port terminals, I can see it could be a bit congested with a few large ships in, but we were fine. Took us about 20 minutes but on busy days reception advised it could take an hour, so defer to their advice when booking a time slot, they know what ships are due."

"The hotel changed the day of arrival for us as the cruise ship was delayed due to bad weather, when we arrived at the hotel we were given the same room as a previous stay and managed to get the same parking space, how cool was that."

"The hotel was lovely, we got a room upgrade even though we were only staying one night. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. We had a cruise deal, so once our car was parked we left it until our return (taking keys with us). Reception arranged out taxi transfer to the port the following morning, and gave us details of how to arrange a transfer on our return. The transfers were included as part of the package. Altogether a great experience."
