New COVID-19 travel insurance partnership covers trips to destinations worldwide - not just countries on the UK government list
London, UK August 17th 2020 ---- Holiday Extras, the UK market leader in holiday extras such as airport parking, airport hotels, lounges and travel insurance, has expanded its insurance range to include destinations worldwide - even countries where the UK government is advising against all but essential travel.
In a new partnership offering battleface travel insurance, underwritten at Lloyd's of London, Holiday Extras' customers can now easily access protection for travellers heading off to destinations worldwide - including countries such as France, Spain or the USA, which have traditionally been top summer destinations for UK travellers but are currently under UK government non-essential travel advisories. The new battleface policy is an addition to Holiday Extras' existing travel insurance range, which includes COVID-19 travel insurance cover for destinations on the FCDO exemption list.Offering peace of mind for travellers heading to such destinations or where travel is essential, the new travel insurance policy will provide cover, for example if customers fall ill and require medical or emergency assistance 24/7 including medical expenses caused by COVID-19, loss of baggage, personal money and passport and personal liability.
Howard Dove, Insurance Director at Holiday Extras, explained:
"Holiday Extras is here to make every trip hassle-free. With the UK government advising against all but essential travel to some destinations, most of our customers are travelling to places on the exemption list - for example Greece, Italy and Turkey, where we're seeing very strong bookings for this summer. For those customers, we already offer COVID-19 travel insurance."
"However, some customers still want or need to travel to countries that aren't on the government's list, and we want to be able to help them too. In some cases customers tell us they're still travelling because they booked a holiday before the government advice changed, the trip is still going ahead and now they need travel insurance that will protect them. By partnering with battleface, we've got the travel insurance product we wanted to help those customers too, and can now help every traveller wherever they're going."
Book your holiday extras early
It pays to book your airport parking, airport hotel or your lounge as soon as you book your flights. Prices usually go up nearer the date you fly, and last year Holiday Extras saved our airport parking customers £100 each on average when they pre-booked their airport parking instead of paying on the day.Book my hotel and parking today
Sasha Gainullin, CEO battleface said:
"We are excited to be partnering with Holiday Extras to offer customers the chance to be covered for travel to countries under UK government non-essential travel advisories. Whilst we are not actively encouraging people to travel to places the FCDO is advising against, it's important that travellers are covered in the event of an emergency and understand the quarantine requirements upon return to the UK"
