Travellers affected by Heathrow strikes and other disruptions

Heathrow strikes
On Wednesday 7 June security officers at Heathrow Airport announced their intention to strike throughout the summer. The dates they'll be striking are:
- 24 June to 25 June
- 28 June to 30 June
- 14 July to 16 July
- 21 July to 24 July
- 28 July to 31 July
- 4 August to 7 August
- 11 August to 14 August
- 18 August to 20 August
- 24 August to 27 August
The airport has said that previous strikes have led to minimal disruption and that contingency plans are in place. Still, if you're planning to travel to or from Heathrow on those dates, delays are possible.
NATO exercises
From Monday 11 June to Thursday 22 June a major NATO exercise is expected to close significant parts of European airspace for several hours each day. Although delays to each flight are expected to be minimal, the knock-on effects of hundreds of flights losing a few minutes each may cause more significant cumulative impacts.
Delays are especially possible if you're travelling to or over Denmark or Holland, into Poland or Czechia, via Frankfurt or to Turkey.

How to cancel your booking
- If you haven't done so already, log in to your account.
- Look for 'Your trips and bookings'.
- Tap the booking you want to amend.
- Select 'Cancel Booking' from the list.
You can still follow this process if your booking is non-amendable or inside 24 hours of your arrival date, to arrange a cancellation invoice for a travel insurance claim.
