Ross Gillougley

Associate Director - Finance

I've been fortunate to build a career in finance that spans over two decades, working across industries like international travel, UK breaks, and lifestyle brands. As the Associate Director of Group Finance at Holiday Extras, I focus on ensuring our financial strategy supports the company's growth while keeping things efficient and forward-thinking. I've always enjoyed the balance of working with numbers and shaping business decisions that have a real impact, whether it's introducing new systems or refining how we approach financial planning.

Before joining Holiday Extras, I held senior roles with some of the world's most recognisable travel brands such as the Emirates Group and Tui. My experience has given me the opportunity to work on some exciting projects, from launching and scaling new ventures to leading high-impact business transformations. What I enjoy most is helping teams make sense of the numbers and translating that into something meaningful for the company's direction. There's nothing quite like seeing a strategy come together.

I've always been passionate about finding new ways to improve processes and have had the pleasure of mentoring some great teams along the way. For me, it's not just about the figures; it's about building something sustainable and helping others grow in their roles.

Outside of the office, travel is a huge part of my life. I've been lucky enough to explore some incredible places, with Bali and Vietnam being two of my favourites for their rich culture and stunning landscapes. I recently completed a 700km cycling trip from Rome to the heel of Italy, a highlight for me as a keen cyclist. I also spent several years living in the UAE before returning to the UK. While I generally preferred a quiet coffee by the beach to the malls and hotels, living there opened up many travel opportunities. I explored countries like Jordan, Oman, and Indonesia, amongst others - each unique in its own way. Though I loved the travel, I missed the UK's forests, hills, and green grass, which I'm glad to be surrounded by again.
