Neil Howes

Associate Director - BookFlowGo (ParkIt)

My journey started in 2018 as a Partnerships Manager for ParkIT and it has been a whirlwind from day one. Within the first 12 months, we had tendered, won and installed our first international customer and provided a full self-service solution to Edinburgh Airport. The following year saw us roll out our largest over hardware project at the biggest block park multi-storey car park ever built.

In 2020 I moved into a VP role heading up a Partnerships team that spans all customer-facing elements from new business to projects to support function. The business growth has continued, we have increased our UK market share and our international offering now includes Australia and New Zealand.

Life before Holiday Extras

I spent the first quarter of my career working in Finance in a variety of businesses and roles, from Forensics to Supply Chain and large CAPEX projects. Working in Finance and being 'in the numbers' is never a bad thing as I firmly believe they are business fundamentals but I look back now and realise I spent far too long working in an industry I just didn't love.

The moment I changed roles I never looked back!

Life outside Holiday Extras

I live in Solihull with my wife and our two young boys who are just starting school. The boys have a relentless energy that tires me out and keeps me feeling young in equal measure. Apart from my family, my 3 favourite things are; travelling, food and football.

I love travelling and holidays and although the destinations since the children arrived have been a little less adventurous, I'm proud to say it hasn't stopped us and the children are rapidly catching me up with stamps in their passports.

One of the best things about travelling is the food. I love nothing more than sampling the local dishes accompanied by a local beer or wine. I like to think I'm a pretty good chef at home, my speciality is Beef Wellington but I'll give anything a go - except for sprouts!

I love football so much that, despite being born with absolutely no talent for it, I make up for it by being able to watch any match without getting bored - ever. My wife? Not so thrilled about it. As an England and Birmingham CIty fan I rarely have anything to celebrate - but I live in hope.

Favourite places

I love to travel, in fact, I think I'm mildly obsessed. Narrowing it down to one is impossible so here are a few of my faves:

  • With the kids: Puerto Pollensa
  • For the food: Argentina - insanely good steak and amazing Malbec
  • Most Random: Ohrid - it's the jewel of Macedonia and it's amazing, but shhh don't tell everyone
  • Fav City: Budapest
  • If ever I emigrated: Australia - from Perth to Sydney to Brisbane, I love them all!
