Hello and Servus, I'm Annette, but many at work call me Netti. As the Associate Director of Growth EU at HX, I lead a dynamic team dedicated to innovating and expanding our B2C strategies across PPC, Email, SEO, and App throughout Germany and into Europe. I began my journey here in 2013 as a PPC and Email Manager and have since grown through various roles in online marketing. One of the aspects I treasure most about my role is the opportunity to build a vast network and collaborate with diverse teams across the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. Beyond my professional responsibilities, I am actively involved in HX life, organising our annual foosball tournament and taking on the role of the german film producer for HX TV, our internal TV show. To my surprise, my colleague Lolo and I were honoured as Presenter of the Year in 2023. I'm immensely proud to be part of the vibrant HX Family, where learning, growth, and fun are integral to our daily experience in a culture of mutual respect and support.
My personal interests are deeply rooted in culture—whether it's theatre, cinema, or immersing myself in a good medieval novel. I truly enjoy attending rock concerts and have a profound love for exploring castles and fortresses. There's scarcely a castle in Kent or Bavaria that I haven't walked through.
Since 2017, I've enjoyed handlettering and faux calligraphy as a creative hobby. This led me to start a small business on Instagram and Etsy, where I present my artwork and conduct workshops for various events. I've collaborated with yoga studios, department stores, and managed private events. Additionally, this venture inspired me to initiate Munich's first gathering for local artists.
My love for challenges isn't just limited to my professional life; it also thrives in my personal interests, particularly during board games and our annual HX foosball tournaments. Known for my playful competitiveness, I enjoy both participating and organising these events. On a fun note, I also maintain the female record for the longest beer mug hold at our internal HX Bavarian Summer Games—four minutes.
Travelling is my greatest passion. My husband Max and I cherish the thrill of spontaneous adventures, often deciding on destinations at the last minute and sometimes even purchasing flight tickets right at the airport. We relish exploring the diverse cultures and landscapes from the hidden gem of Georgia to the vast expanses of Australia, the natural parks of America, and the beauty of Europe. In our VW bus, driving towards the sun, we cover distances of several thousands of kilometres on a single trip to see as much as possible. Our holiday activities range from downhill biking in bike parks and scaling via ferratas to canoeing. We're constantly on the move, with a particular passion for hiking—whether it's reaching Germany's highest peak, scaling Montenegro's tallest mountain, or trekking across glaciers to Mount Kazbek's base camp in Georgia at 3,600 metres.
Based in Munich, my team and I always enjoy exploring the city with visiting colleagues over a Schnitzel and a Stein of beer, followed by a sightseeing tour or excursions to the stunning mountain lakes and the Alps just outside our doorstep.
