How does the renewal process work?
When you purchase an Annual Multi-Trip policy, you are automatically opted into auto-renewal to help ensure continuous protection year after year.
🕑 Renewal Reminder
28 days before your policy ends, you'll get an email confirming if you're set to auto-renew and showing your renewal price.
📧 Accessing Your Renewal
You can only manage your renewal via your reminder email or SMS sent in the last month of your cover.
❌ Opting Out
You can opt out of auto-renewal online or with our team any time up to 4 days before your policy ends.
💳 Auto-Renewal Payment
If opted in, payment is taken 4 days before your cover ends, ensuring no gap in protection.
⚠️ Action May Be Needed
If we can't take payment (for example, if your card details are out of date), we'll let you know what you need to do to keep your cover going.

Your Insurance Renewal Questions Answered
I did a new search and I can't be covered, what shall I do?
If we cannot offer you a quote that suits your needs, then we recommend using the MoneyHelper insurance directory, which you can access here. You can also contact them by phone on 0800 138 7777, and they are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. You can use this directory if you have been refused cover, had cover excluded, or received a high additional premium in connection to your medical conditions.
Discounts Explained
How is my loyalty discount worked out?
When we email you your renewal quote, it already includes a loyalty discount as a thank you for staying with us. We apply this discount to the base price of your policy and any policy optional extras you may have added. The "base price" is what you would pay as a new customer today for the same policy you had last year. The discount you receive varies depending on several factors. Your discount is designed to make sure your renewal offers good value.
Do you discount the total price of a policy?
Not quite. Your loyalty discount is applied to the base price of your travel insurance policy. It does not apply to the price for any pre-existing medical conditions.
Do I still get a discount if I need to amend my policy?
Yes, your loyalty discount still applies. When you search for a new quote by clicking Get a Quote we'll include your discount in the updated price.
Communication and Messaging
How will you contact me about my renewal?
We send messages via Email, SMS, and App Notifications. Your renewal quote will be ready around 28 days before your policy expires. Once your quote is ready, we will send it to you via Email. We will also send a few more reminders before your policy expires to make sure you're in the know. In the unlikely event we can't contact you via Email, we will make sure that your renewal quote is sent to you by Letter.
What do I do if I haven't received an email about my renewal?
Firstly, you should check the Spam or Junk folder of your Email account, sometimes, things fall through the cracks! If you still can't find your Email, please contact us here or click support. Our support team will be able to help you with your renewal.
I have unsubscribed from your mailing list. Will you still contact me?
If you have unsubscribed from our mailing list, we will not send you marketing emails. In some cases, however, we have a legal obligation to contact you even if you have unsubscribed. We have to contact you to tell you that policy is due to expire, and to provide you with a Renewal quote. This is to ensure that you have all the information you need about your policy with us. If you choose not to renew, we will also contact you when your policy expires. This is to make you aware that you're no longer covered.
Accessing Your Renewal
How do I access my renewal quote?
You can find your quote details in your Renewals Portal. You can access your Renewals Portal via your most recent Email or SMS about your renewal. Your quote details will be available to you until your current policy expires.

I've changed my mind. Can I cancel my policy after I've renewed?
Yes. Within 14 days of receiving your documents you can cancel your policy for a full refund, as long as your trip has not started and you have not made a claim. The quickest way to do this is online, by logging in to your Holiday Extras account. If you need to cancel outside the 14-day cooling-off period, you can contact us here or by clicking by clicking support and our support team will be able to help you.
Auto Renewal
How do I know if my policy is going to auto renew?
We will tell you whether your policy will automatically renew or not in our messages to you. You can opt out of automatic renewal at any point during the duration of your policy. You can do this by managing your policy in your Holiday Extras account, or by contacting us here. If you choose to opt out, we will confirm that your policy will no longer be automatically renewed via email. If you are still unsure, please contact us to check that your policy has been opted out correctly.
My policy is set to auto renew. When will my payment be taken?
We take payment around four days before your current policy's expiry date. This is to ensure that you have no gaps in your coverage. We will then contact you via Email to confirm that your payment has been successful. If we cannot take payment or need further information from you, we will contact you.
Why is my policy not auto renewing when I am opted in?
There are rare occasions in which a policy cannot be auto renewed even if you are opted in. The most common reason is that we are unable to take payment on the card you used when you bought your policy last year. If we cannot take payment, we will contact you to explain how to renew.
