A problem with Microsoft's Crowdstrike security software is causing worldwide computer problems, including delays and disruptions to air travel and rail networks.

A worldwide IT outage has caused the closure and disruption of services around the world, including banks, airports, rail travel and other services.

UK travel impact

UK rail services are reporting delays and disruptions

Many flights are delayed or disrupted.

Many UK airports are reporting some problems with check-in and other computer systems, including some departure boards. Some airports are checking in customers manually. Passengers are advised to check with their airline before setting off to the airport, and allow extra time for check-in.

Customers with a booking and due to travel

Customers with Flextras: Free cancellations bookings can cancel any time up to the booked day and time of travel, except for official airport products at Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands where cancellation is within 72 hours of travel, and transfers where canellation is up to midnight before the day of travel.

Flextras: Saver customers can cancel for a voucher to use on the same product.
