Alicante on a budget

Once you've paid for air flights and accommodation, how much is left over to spend when you arrive at your destination of choice? We'll do our bit to help, with our easy-to-use and cost-effective airport transfers, which will get you from Alicante-Elche Airport to your hotel, hostel or rented living quarters in no time at all.

Bask on a beach

It isn't necessary to spend loads of money to enjoy most of what Alicante has to offer. The province's many beaches have long been a major draw to travellers far and wide – and one of the best can be found close to the centre of the city: Playa del Postiguet.

Captivating castles and churches

Santa Bárbara Castle is one of Spain's largest medieval forts and is well worth a visit. The walk alone from street level up to the castle is an experience in itself. Once at the top, you'll be presented with amazing 360-degree views. If you don't fancy the hike, the cost of using the lift is quite modest.

Another must-see historic building that costs nothing to enter is the Basilica of Santa María, which is located in the heart of Alicante's fascinating Old Town.

Arts and culture

If you are keen to broaden your mind as well as top up your suntan, why not visit MARQ, the city's archaeological museum? You might also like to look around MACA, the Museum of Contemporary Art. Both buildings are free to enter.

A ramble on the Rambla

No visit to Alicante is complete without some time meandering along Explanada de España, which is generally referred to as 'Rambla'. Its marbled tiles form striking wave patterns and the promenade is lined either side by gorgeous palm trees. Along the route you'll have the option to sample some tasty, inexpensive treats.

Island excursion

Much of the Rambla runs parallel to the city's impressive marina. From here you can take a return boat trip to Tabarca Island for as little as €14. Tabarca is a protected marine reserve that is rich with marine life, much of which can be observed simply by donning a snorkel. What's more, the island has a beautiful beach – and a number of small coves that are fun to explore.

Remember, before you finalise your holiday plans, our Alicante Airport transfers will give you the best possible start to your Costa Blanca stay.
