New Swiss lounges in Geneva

Swiss has opened two new lounges at Geneva airport.

National airline Swiss has opened two new airport lounges for the use of its premium passengers at Geneva airport.

The new facilities are designated for the carrier's first class customers and its Miles&More Senator travellers. Customers flying with Lufthansa and other Star Alliance members will also be entitled to use the lounges.

Following the opening of the Swiss business class lounge at Geneva last May, the airline now offers three facilities at the airport for its premium passengers.

The company's entire lounge facility covers an area of 845 square metres and can accommodate a total of 200 guests at a time.

Speaking at the official inauguration of the new facilities, Swiss chief executive Christoph Franz said: "It's not just in the air that we face a daily fight with our competitors.

"The battle for customers begins on the ground."

The three Swiss lounges at Geneva airport are located immediately after passport control and before the security checkpoint.
