BA confirms new short-haul routes

More holiday destinations with BA

British Airways has announced that it will launch new services to a number of holiday destinations next year.

Flag-carrying airline British Airways has revealed that it will launch a number of new short-haul services from London next year.

The carrier will open a new link between Heathrow and Malaga from March 30th, while new flights will be available from Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Gibraltar, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma and Tunis.

These Gatwick services are currently operated by BA's franchise carrier GB Airways, whose agreement with BA comes to an end in March 2008.

From London City airport, BA's subsidiary Cityflyer will launch four new routes to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Nice and Warsaw.

British Airways commercial director Robert Boyle said: "We are opening up these Mediterranean hotspots with our new flights and are confident that, with our full onboard service and low prices, they will be very popular with customers.

"BA Cityflyer's operation at London City airport continues to go from strength to strength and from next summer will operate to nine destinations in the UK and Europe."
