Lufthansa adds 3 winter destinations

Lufthansa has unveiled its flight timetable for winter 2007-08 and announced that it will begin services to the long-haul destinations of Orlando, Karachi and Lahore.

Board member Karl Ulrich Garnadt said that the new services were part of the airline's initiative to focus on America and Asia.

Lufthansa's global route network will encompass 188 destinations in 79 countries with the new services, while capacity will be increased by 5.7 per cent compared to the winter of 2006-07.

Mr Garnadt said: "We are enlarging our long-haul route network, with the focus on America and Asia.

"In Europe, we are further expanding our route network to eastern Europe and simultaneously raising frequencies on several routes to business destinations."

From October 28th, when the new timetable begins, Lufthansa will operate 12,208 flights per week on domestic and European routes and 1,064 services on its long-haul network.
