easyJet links Scotland and Paris

Low-cost carrier easyJet has announced that it will offer a new route between Scotland and France in the future.

The airline revealed that it would launch a service between Edinburgh Airport and Paris' Charles de Galle on September 10th.

Fares on the new daily service will start at just £27.99 one way, including tax, and will allow customers from Scotland to easily access the French capital.

Recent figures showed that France remained the most popular tourist destination in the world in 2006. In total, 78 million people visited the country for a holiday last year - three per cent more than in 2005.

In the same statement, the airline revealed that it would also be beginning a new daily service between Milan Malpensa and Catania in Sicily.

This will be the first ever service that easyJet offers to Catania and tickets will cost £26.99 one way. The flights are due to commence on July 13th
