Brighton 'a cultural hotspot'

September 2007

Brighton is rapidly developing into the UK's top cultural hotspot, a tourism association has claimed.

According to VisitBrighton, the city's entertainment venues, attractions and local atmosphere offer "something for everyone".

This year the Theatre Royal celebrates its 200th birthday, while the city hosts the UK's largest arts festival in May.

September 2007 saw Brighton hold the Food and Drink Festival, while next month it will host the Comedy Festival before the CineCity event comes to town in November.

The seaside location boasts a number of cultural and historic attractions as well as the famous Brighton Pier, where restaurants, arcades and a funfair can be found.

It also offers the wide variety of bars, clubs and pubs that you would expect from a student town, VisitBrighton claims.
