Activity holidaymakers get helping hand

Families looking for a spot of adventure over the summer holidays could benefit from a new guide which has been launched.

Carrentals.co.uk has released a new free guide to active family holidays in Britain, which it hopes will advise families on the best cycle and walking routes in the country, as well as the best attractions.

The guide also provides a number of maps, which can help families heading on an activity holiday.

Gareth Robinson of the car hire website said: "The summer holidays can be an expensive time for parents, so we're trying to make it a bit more affordable.

"This year we've teamed up with some fantastic UK attractions, plus with the walks and cycling routes, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained."

Domestic holidays are becoming increasingly popular for Britons, with a greater emphasis being placed on reducing carbon footprints. Speaking earlier this year, however, Tony Blair told holidaymakers that a fear of climate change should not force people to miss out on their usual overseas breaks.

Interestingly though, research released by propertyfinder.com this week revealed that a rise in UK holidays has led to an increase in the number of investors buying holiday homes in Britain.
