London City Airport Closure

London City Airport has reopened following yesterday's closure. The airport closed following an aircraft incident yesterday morning. The Airport was able to partially re-open yesterday at 17:05 and hopes to return to normal operations by the end of today, though some flights have been cancelled.

What happened?

An Air France 146 jet's tyres burst on landing at 8.35. The aircraft stopped at the eastern end of the runway - everyone on board was safely escorted to the terminal. An inquiry has been launched.

All passengers travelling via London City Airport today should contact their airlines directly for further travel information.
