October 1, 2008
The recently launched Hardy's Skiing & Snowboarding Guide 2009 has awarded Alberta the top prize in a number of categories for winter sports.
Of the eight categories, Alberta's resorts - set among the Rocky Mountains of Canada - came out on top of six. Judged by a panel of experts, the prestigious awards were distributed to those resorts deemed worthy of acknowledgment.
Amanda Newby de Saulles, Travel Alberta's UK representative, said: "We are very proud that our ski resorts have been recognised in this esteemed guide. For both Banff and Jasper to be recognised for their first-class winter sports product is an accolade.
"It goes to show that our dependable snow conditions, excellent tuition and friendly mountain resorts are delivering just what discerning skiers and boarders are looking for."
The Alberta winners were:
Best Ski Resort - Banff-Lake Louise Best Small Resort - Jasper, Marmot Basin Best Ski Hotel - Fox Hotel & Suites, Banff Best Ski Spa - Red Earth Spa, Banff Best Resort Restaurant - Maple Leaf Grille, Banff Best Ski Shop - Ski Hub, Banff
