Air Arabia make inaugural Stansted flight

May 6, 2009

Stansted Airport today welcomed the inaugural touchdown of Air Arabia Maroc's first direct connection from Casablanca, which marks the fourth new route to join the airport's network since the beginning of May.

"I'm tempted to say 'of all the airports, in all the world, I'm glad they chose mine' but those words are very true today," said Nick Barton, commercial and planning director at Stansted Airport.

"We're delighted to welcome Air Arabia Maroc and its new Casablanca connection onto our route network, and we wish them every success as they move into the London market, via Stansted, with what is set to be a very popular service."

The new route enables travellers from London Stansted Airport the opportunity to discover the vibrant, colourful city of Casablanca. Morocco's largest city, Casablanca enjoys a privileged position on the north African coastline, and offers visitors a host of unforgettable sites to discover.

Mr Adel Ali, managing director of Air Arabia, said: "Following Air Arabia's official launch last week, we are pleased to have London Stansted as the airline's inaugural destination.

"Customers flying between Casablanca and London will enjoy true value-for-money services connecting the emerging economy of Morocco with the capital of the United Kingdom."
