Sardinia attracts celebs
Sardinia is emerging as one of the newest celebrity holiday hotspots, media reports suggest.
Hello! magazine reports that Formula One boss Flavio Briatore and his fiancee were recently spotted enjoying a break on the Italian island and that last week it played host to a large celebrity party.
Famous jeweller Fawaz Gruosi picked the island's Billionaire's Club for his birthday bash and a number of A-listers turned out for the event. Stars in attendance included model-turned-businesswoman Ivana Trump and Hollywood's Anne Hathaway.
In addition, action hero Bruce Willis was recently spotted enjoying a holiday on Sardinia. The Die Hard actor opted for a private yacht off the island to allow him to relax.
The Lonely Planet describes the island thus: "Sardinia has some fascinating medieval sections and beautiful beaches.
"There's also the magnificent and relatively unspoiled Costa Verde coastline, the beaches and grottoes around the tourist enclave of Alghero, and the trekking and traditional culture offered in Nuoro Province."
