Morocco 'lures Louise Redknapp'

Former pop star Louise Redknapp has revealed that she loves to holiday in Morocco.

Jamie Redknapp's wife told Now magazine that she first visited the north African nation with her parents when she was a young girl.

She explained to the magazine: "The place has amazed me ever since. An Arab man offered my dad 40 camels for his little girl!"

However, the former Eternal star revealed that she did not let the experience put her off and recently returned to the country.

She added: "I went back recently and it was still fascinating."

Morocco has recently become a very fashionable holiday destination, with visitors attracted to the country's fascinating cities, rich history and rugged landscape.

The Lonely Planet has this to say about the nation: "Jostling crowds, the piquant tension of debate, space in perpetual motion - the minute you set foot in the country you know you've arrived somewhere very different.

"Spend a weekend in a luxury riad in Marrakesh, Fes or Rabat, exorcise your shopping demons in some of the most colourful markets in the world, or indulge in some off-piste desert driving over sugar-soft dunes.

"And this fantastically varied destination is barely three hours flying time from Europe."

Several airlines, including British Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Iberia and easyJet all fly to Morocco from the UK.
