Wet set opt for yachts

Celebrities are increasingly opting to holiday onboard luxury private yachts, media reports suggest.

Hello! Magazine has christened these nautical celebrities the "wet set" and it seems sailing is all the rage this summer.

At the beginning of July, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and her partner Tony Parker sparked off the trend when they took a trip on a luxury boat before their wedding.

Since then, a whole host of stars - from the Monegasque royal Pierre Casiraghi to film star couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas - have been spotted relaxing on impressive yachts, the magazine reports.

Some, like newly-wed couple Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster, seem to like the privacy offered by having several miles of sea surrounding them.

Others, like Irina Abramovich, can relax in the knowledge that her children are safe and it is easy to sail to a new port when they start to get bored.
