Kids go free on Austrian Airlines this summer

Families planning to travel to the Alps for their summer holiday could get there for less, after Austrian Airlines announced a new offer.

For the entire summer period, families flying on Austrian Airlines to anywhere in the country will receive a 100 per cent discount for up to two children. The parents need only pay for their own tickets and the taxes for their kids.

Passengers can fly from airports in London, as well as from other European cities, such as Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Linz and Salzburg.

The offer is valid on all tickets sold between May 18th and June 30th and can be applied to any flights between June 30th and August 31st, making it perfect for families planning an Alpine summer trip.

Indeed, Austria makes a perfect summer holiday destination as there are a huge range of activities on offer, from mountain biking to fishing.

The Lonely Planet describes the country thus: "Austria has few peers as a year-round holiday destination, with plenty of winter sports in the Alps, some of the most impressive and overblown architecture in Europe and an unrivalled musical tradition.
