Zoom Airlines adds Gatwick flights

Transatlantic low fares airline Zoom is increasing the number of flights it offers from Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow airports next summer.

The Canadian based airline says it is committed to providing transatlantic flights between the UK and Canada and the USA with high standards of service and competitive fares.

Zoom currently operates low cost flights from Gatwick airport to New York JFK, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, and Bermuda. In May next year it will add new non-stop services between Gatwick and Ottawa in Canada, departing every Sunday throughout the summer holiday season.

Flights from Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale, launched earlier this year, will be increased next summer with the introduction of non-stop flights on Saturdays. Extra flights will also be added over the Easter period. From June 2009 there will be a third weekly non-stop flight from Gatwick to San Diego.

Manchester airport also gets new flights from Zoom. Next summer two non-stop flights from Manchester to Toronto will be introduced, plus a second weekly flight to Vancouver.

The final beneficiary of new flights from Zoom next summer is Glasgow airport. A non-stop flight to Vancouver is being introduced on Thursdays, complementing the existing flight on Sundays which also serves Calgary.

Launching the airlines’ new summer schedule, Zoom chairman Hugh Boyle said: "We're delighted to be extending the range of flights available for 2009 and continuing our low fare transatlantic revolution. The recent Which? consumer survey confirmed that customers preferred Zoom’s service to that of our main competitors and we will continue to work hard to bring fantastic service at fantastic prices to customers in every market that we serve."
