Bournemouth airport follows the same rules and regulations as all UK airports.
Certain regulations may vary according to your airline. We always recommend that you check the restrictions before you travel.
Make your journey as stress-free as possible and swot up on the rules before you arrive at the airport.
Here are some general guidelines for you.
Hand luggage should not exceed 56cm x 45cm x 25cm including wheels, handles and external pockets. Usually only one piece of hand luggage is allowed per person. Laptop computers and other complex items of electrical items must be removed from hand luggage and screened separately. Musical instruments will be allowed as an extra item of hand luggage, but these will be screened separately.
Liquids are allowed in your hand luggage however there are some rules and restrictions.
All liquids being carried in your hand luggage must be in containers of up to 100ml. All containers must be shown for security inspection in a single, clear, resealable plastic bag - approximately 20cm x 20cm. The bag must not exceed a capacity of one litre.
Liquids of any size can still be checked into the hold, so it's advisable to put these in your main suitcase.
Liquids include:
Ensure you have a valid passport.
Always allow yourself plenty of time for checking in.
Ensure you have your passports and any tickets or paperwork that will be needed for checking in.
Generally, check-in desks open two or three hours prior to the flight departure time. Please check the exact timings with your airline. For some domestic flights, airlines now require to see appropriate photo identity, but again please double check this with your airline.
After check-in you should proceed to security where your hand luggage, liquids any electrical items and musical instruments will be searched. Body searches may also be made so be prepared.
