When's The BEst Time of Year to Visit Krakow?

What constitutes the best time to travel to Kraków really depends on what you want to get out of your vacation. We've put together some significant factors that we hope will help you to make up your mind.

When you've decided when to visit, be sure to take advantage of our Krakow airport transfers. Pre-book our airport shuttle service and it'll be one less thing that you'll need to think about when you arrive.

Beat the crowds

If you want to take full advantage of all that Poland's second largest city has to offer, a good time to travel is during spring or autumn. Avoid a visit during the summer months and you'll avoid the majority of Kraków's holidaymakers, too. Head over in spring or autumn and you'll be able to circumvent peak tourism while still managing to take advantage of some decent weather.

What is the weather like?

Unsurprisingly, it's the months of July and August that are typically the warmest, with average highs of 24°C. Not lagging too far behind are May, June and September, making them good months to visit. June typically experiences peak temperatures of 22°C while May and September can normally be expected to enjoy highs of around 19°C.

As far as rainfall is concerned, it's really a matter of pot luck because levels of precipitation are pretty consistent throughout the year. For example, January and July usually experience about nine days of rain each.

If you want to steer clear – or take advantage – of snow, the period between November and April is when the cold, white stuff is most likely to fall.

The cheapest time of year to enjoy Kraków

In order to make your budget go further, avoid travelling to Poland during July and August. This is peak season for travel and tourism industries, when prices tend to be at their highest. If you're not too worried about temperatures, January and February are generally considered to be the most affordable times to enjoy a vacation in this Polish city.

It's usually a good idea to book flights and accommodation at least three weeks in advance – this will enable you to take advantage of the best deals.

At Holiday Extras, we do our very best to ensure that every holiday is as hassle free and cost effective as possible with our airport transfers.
