Eos Airlines wins award

Business-class carrier Eos Airlines has been recognised as one of the most punctual airlines operating in the UK.

Recent figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) showed that Eos had the best on-time performance of any commercial airline between London and New York in the first three months of 2007.

Over three-quarters (78 per cent) of Eos flights between the UK and New York departed on-time. Other major carriers that did not perform so well included American Airlines (69 per cent), British Airways (56 per cent) and Virgin Atlantic (50 per cent).

Commenting on the figures, Jack Williams, Eos' chief executive said: "We offer an 'uncrowded' experience by flying the world's only commercial fleet of Boeing 757s outfitted for just 48 guests.

"When you take away the crowds, great things are possible – including the elimination of delays at check-in, boarding and deplaning."

In April, Mr Williams announced that Eos was expanding and would offer flights from Stansted to Washington DC, Boston, Los Angeles in the near future.
