Montserrat to host dive festival

May 27, 2009

The Caribbean island of Montserrat is set to welcome dive enthusiasts from around the world to its first ever diving festival.

Organised by The Green Monkey Dive Shop and supported by the Montserrat Tourist Board and Montserrat Tourism Challenge Fund, the festival is being held in conjunction with the island's biannual Reef Check Program and takes place between June 27-July 4, 2009.

Visitors to the festival will be able to enjoy a schedule of diving events as well as a number of other activities. For example, you may choose to take a scenic boat tour offering spectacular views, or trek to the Montserrat Volcano Observatory.

The island of Montserrat forms part of the Leeward Island archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. Often referred to as the 'Emerald Isle of the Caribbean', the island offers a wealth of memorable sights to witness. Perhaps discover the Soufriere Hills Volcano, previously thought dormant until it became active in 1995.
