Check-in at Terminal 3
Following a £16 million investment, check-in at Heathrow's Terminal 3 has emerged fully refurbished in time for the summer holiday season.
The new and improved area seeks to offer a more efficient check-in process featuring the last technology. Thirty self-service check-in machines are now in place, while state-of-the-art flight information display screens have been fitted.
Rob Norrington, Terminal 3 development leader, said: "We've worked hard to refurbish check-in so that passengers flying away this summer enjoy the best airport experience possible. Check-in remained open throughout, which certainly added to the challenge; however, we planned carefully and worked with our airline partners throughout. As a result the team delivered the project with no impact and completed it ahead of schedule."
Refurbishment of the check-in area is just part of a £133 million programme of work underway in Terminal 3. Among the forthcoming improvements is a 17-lane security search area, plus a £20 million renovation of the Immigration and Baggage Reclaim halls.
