Dublin attracts stars and holidaymakers

Ireland has become the fashionable spot for celebrities to take a short break, a new report suggests.

An article in Hello magazine points out that a host a music and film stars have recently been spotted all over Ireland, with Dublin remaining a popular choice for a quick get-away.

Avril Lavigne recently visited the city after performing at the Oxegen music festival and duo Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins were also snapped enjoying a break from their acting.

Furthermore, the article claims that model Helena Christensen and her new partner Josh Hartnett recently visited Dublin for some rest and relaxation.

Dublin, and indeed the whole of Ireland, has long been popular holiday destinations for many people in the UK. Visitors are attracted by the Irish reputation for hospitality and a vibrant culture.

The Lonely Planet describes the Irish capital thus: "These days Dublin ranks among the top tourist destinations in Europe, and this vibrant city hums with a palpable sense that it is creating a new cultural heritage.
