Managing Director Airparks and Insurance Holiday Extras Group
I had the good fortune to join Holiday Extras in late 2002, having bumped in to an old friend, Simon Hagger (our now Deputy CEO), who told me he had recommended me to his Board as a good candidate to take on the Head of Call Centre role at ABC Holiday Extras (as we were called then). Thankfully the board agreed and I joined shortly after that.
As well as having responsibility for the Call Centre, I also looked after our Insurance business before becoming a Director in 2005. In 2009 I was promoted to the role of CEO of our Parking Operations business, Airparks, making the move to Birmingham to run the operation. I moved back to Kent in 2013, continuing to look after Airparks (and the associated Property holdings), and re-gaining the reigns of our Travel Insurance business, a role I am privileged to still perform today.
I've always loved working in the Travel sector, having spent my early years after university at Saga Holidays and TV Travel Shop before joining Holiday Extras in 2002. I was lucky to return to school in 2010, courtesy of Holiday Extras, studying for my MBA at Warwick Business School, which I graduated from in 2014.
Life outside Holiday Extras
I married Katie in 2003, having met in 1995 whilst at Saga Holidays.
We live close to Sandwich with our amazing son, Edward (11), and 2 miniature daschunds, Pip and Bandit.
Katie is a fitness instructor, we get up at 5 each morning in the week to work out together - which I agree is not normal.
Being part of the Holiday Extras story continues to be a great pleasure and privilege, the business empowers each of us to be the best version of ourselves and make a difference. I am as excited today about the future of our business as I was back in 2002 when I joined.
Our customer focused mission of 'less hassle, more holiday' runs through everything we do and is the reason we continue to innovate, evolve and grow.
