Bmibaby confirms Birmingham-Krakow flights

Low-fares airline bmibaby has confirmed that it will begin flying from Birmingham to Krakow next year.

Low-fares carrier bmibaby has announced that it will begin flights from Birmingham to Krakow in Poland on February 12th 2008.

The new route will run on a twice-weekly basis on Tuesdays and Saturdays and brings the total number of destinations served by bmibaby from Birmingham to 23.

This summer the airline operated over 350 weekly flights a week from Birmingham, reportedly making it the largest carrier at the Midlands hub.

Commercial director David Hodge said: "Bmibaby's new Polish route to Krakow reinforces the airline's commitment to developing and expanding services from Birmingham international airport, providing further economic growth to the region.

"The UK Polish community is a modern day phenomenon and the new route from Birmingham will provide valuable links for friends and family in Poland and in the Midlands."

In a separate announcement, bmibaby confirmed that it will commence services from Glasgow to Ireland West Knock on February 12th. This will reportedly be the only route offering access to west Ireland from Glasgow.
