What am I covered for?
Accidental damage ‐ including cracked screens and liquid damage.
Loss ‐ cover applies if you accidentally misplace your gadget and it’s permanently lost.
Malicious damage ‐intentional damage caused by someone else.
Theft ‐ if your gadget is stolen, we’ll arrange a replacement, provided manufacturer security (such as Find My iPhone) was active at the time.
Key things to know:
- Gadgets must be in good working condition at the start of the journey.
- We can cover gadgets that are new or refurbished from a VAT-registered retailer, or ones that were gifted/second-hand – as long as you have proof of purchase and ownership.
- If you’re insuring a phone or other SIM-enabled device, we’ll need to see recent proof of use (like mobile network activity).
- For theft or loss claims, your gadget’s security features (such as passcodes, fingerprint/face ID or Find My Device) must have been switched on.

Every person on your booking is covered up to £1,000 for gadgets. A £50 excess applies to each approved claim.

Your phone, tablet and camera are some of the most important things you pack – so here are a few simple ways to keep them protected while you’re away:
Use your gadget’s security features – set up a passcode, fingerprint or face ID and switch on tracking tools like Find My Device.Back up before you go – save your photos, files and contacts to the cloud so you don’t lose precious memories if something happens.
Keep gadgets close – carry them in hand luggage and avoid leaving them in cars, coaches or checked bags.
Use hotel safes – store laptops, tablets or spare devices when you’re out exploring.
Stay discreet – avoid leaving phones or cameras on café tables or showing them off in busy spots.
Be careful with Wi-Fi – stick to trusted networks or use a VPN for online banking and payments.
Repairs and replacements are managed by Taurus Insurance Services Limited. Refurbished or remanufactured devices may be provided instead of brand new. Repairs include a 3-month warranty; replacements come with a 12-month warranty.
