Norwich airport says go local

[13th June 2008]

Norwich airport says that with the launch of new flights to Spain through airline LTE it is offering fares that compare to rival airports such as Stansted.

Spanish airline LTE is launching weekly services from Norwich airport from 5th July to the Mediterranean holiday hotspots of Alicante, Barcelona and Palma, Majorca.

Now Travel Norwich Airport, which has branches at the airport terminal and in Norwich town centre, is encouraging people to look at fares from their local airport rather than travelling to Stansted or other airports.

“We know lots of people check out the fares from airports such as Stansted, Luton or even Gatwick – but our recent research shows that Norwich fares with LTE are in many cases the same or even cheaper,” says Travel Norwich Airport general manager, Sue Moore.

“Add in the hassle of travel to airports further away, the trek to those terminals from the car parks, and the crowds, then Norwich looks a very affordable and attractive option,” Moore continues.

“Don’t forget your homeward journey too – returning via Norwich is a lot quicker, as you reclaim your baggage in a fraction of the time. Within a few minutes of landing, you can be through the airport and collecting your car or taxi,” she concludes.

Travel Norwich Airport says that flying from Norwich, two adults and two children can enjoy a week’s holiday in Majorca during the school holidays for less than £1,600 for the whole family.

The travel agent has done a price comparison showing that LTE flights from Norwich airport to Palma this summer are comparable to or cheaper than flights from low cost airlines easyJet, Ryanair and Air Berlin from Stansted airport, Monarch from Luton airport, and BA from Gatwick airport.
