Sofitel London Heathrow opens

[July 31, 2008]

The luxurious Sofitel London Heathrow opened its doors today to provide travellers with the ultimate in comfort before their flight.

This 5-star, 605 bedroom hotel is the first to offer enviable levels of service and amenities for those flying out of Heathrow's recently opened Terminal 5. Connected to the terminal by a direct link bridge, the ease with which it provides access is just one of the many draws of the site.

Costing £180 million to construct, the hotel prides itself on offering unbeatable levels of service among elegant and refined surroundings. As Surinder Arora, Chairman of owners Arora International Hotels, explains: "The Sofitel London Heathrow is not an airport hotel, it's a 5-star luxury hotel which just so happens to be at an airport."

A selection of high-class dining options are located on site, with leading chef Albert Roux overseeing the fine dining on offer at the Brasserie Roux and executive chef Julian Jenkins spearheading 'Vivre - l'experience des saveurs', where five kitchens provide a live cooking theatre experience.

Other facilities located at the hotel include the vibrant and informal Icelandic blue Sphere Bar, while a more sedate pace of life and signature cocktails can be savoured at the intimate Library Bar.

Secure, undercover car parking is another feature of the hotel, while the direct link bridge ensures complete convenience for those travellers flying from Terminal 5. With an overnight stay at the Sofitel London Heathrow, any need for last minute rushes on the day of departure can be easily avoided.
