New lounge at Gatwick

An upgraded executive lounge has been opened at Gatwick airport.

Passengers who enjoy the comfort of using airport lounges before their flight now have access to a newly refurbished facility at Gatwick.

The executive lounge opened last week for passengers travelling through the hub's north terminal.

Operated by Aviance, the new facility is located on the first floor in the departure lounge and covers 4,000 square feet, more than double the size of the previous facility.

The area has been equipped with new lighting, ceilings, furniture and toilets and offers access to computer workstations for up to 130 people, with Wi-Fi connections available for an additional charge.

A bar and coffee area provides food and drink as well as daily newspapers, magazines and television screens.

Emma Rees, head of property at Gatwick, said: "We're absolutely delighted Aviance has developed such a great facility for passengers travelling through the north terminal.

"It's a great addition to what's already on offer and provides passengers with real choice, whether they wish to enjoy the wide range of shops and restaurants available in the main departure lounge, or simply unwind before they board their aircraft."
