New hotels open at Birmingham airport

Two new hotels have opened at Birmingham airport, the Ibis and the Etap.

Both hotels are owned by the Accor hotel group and are located just opposite Terminals 1 and 2 at Birmingham airport so no airport transfers are required. Like the well established Novotel, both hotels are also linked by a free Air Rail Link that operates every 90 seconds to Birmingham International railway station and the NEC.

“Birmingham is a growing airport which serves the needs of a wide mix of travellers so by extending the partnership with Accor and developing the new Ibis and Etap hotels, we can provide comfortable and affordable accommodation for all passengers’ needs," comments Birmingham International Airport business development director, Peter Vella.

The new Ibis Birmingham International Airport has 162 modern rooms with double beds, widescreen TV and en-suite bathrooms, 24 hour reception and an 'Around the Clock' snack menu. For passengers who have an early morning flight, a continental breakfast buffet is served from 4am until noon in the Café Restaurant and Bar.

The Etap Hotel Birmingham International Airport is a low cost no frills hotel offering guaranteed standards and modern rooms accommodating up to three people with a double bed, single bunk bed, en-suite tower and toilet, and flat screen TVs. The all-you-can-eat continental breakfast costs £2.95 and there is a 24 hour self service shop with sandwiches, salads, soups, cakes and fresh fruit.

Ibis and Etap UK marketing manager Celine Molle says: ”With the Etap and Ibis hotels joining the already established Novotel, we’re excited to have such a presence at Birmingham International Airport and are delighted to be offering travellers more choice of quality accommodation to suit all needs and budget".
