New flights to Cyprus from Birmingham

Birmingham airport now has two new flights to Larnaca in Cyprus with low fares airline Monarch.
Monarch is operating two flights a week from Birmingham to Larnaca departing on Wednesdays and Sundays. The flights are intended to cater for the demand for holidays to Cyprus. Fares on the new route start from £78.99 one-way (£140.50 return) including all taxes and web booking discount.
The airline already offers flights to Larnaca from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester airports, so the new flights bring the total number of scheduled flights operated by Monarch to the popular holiday destination to 21 per week.
“We are delighted to be expanding our network from Birmingham to include the Eastern Mediterranean with the launch of services to Cyprus,” comments Monarch flights and holidays managing director, Liz Savage.
“There has been huge demand from our Midlands based customers for scheduled flights to Cyprus since we began services from London in 2007, and the launch of these new flights from Birmingham now gives customers a greater choice of direct flights and low fares,” Savage continues.
“Last year we carried over 175,000 customers to Cyprus and we have been overwhelmed with how well this new service has been received with over 10,000 advanced bookings already taken and the first flight almost fully booked,” she adds.
Monarch will offer a comprehensive range of services on the flights to Cyprus. “Monarch’s onboard service is also perfectly placed for the four and a half hour flight time, with extra legroom seating, in-flight entertainment – including full length feature films and the provision of hot and cold food all available,” Savage explains.
For passengers travelling on scheduled flights Monarch offers online check in between seven days and 4.5 hours prior to departure, enabling them to avoid airport queues. Seats can also be pre-booked for a price of £6 per one-way flight. Extra-legroom seats are available, offering up to 6 inches of extra space, from £15.
