New flights from Manchester to Geneva

Manchester airport will get new flights to Geneva and Sofia this winter aimed at people taking skiing and snowboarding holidays.

The new flights from easyJet bring the number of destinations served by the low fares airline from Manchester airport to seven. A new winter service from Manchester to Alicante is also being launched on 29th September.

Flights to Geneva begin on 12th December with prices from £29.99 one way. Geneva is the gateway to many ski resorts in the Swiss and French Alps and the nine times weekly flights are likely to attract winter sports enthusiasts.

Sofia in Bulgaria is a convenient airport for the increasingly popular Bulgarian ski resorts of Bansko and Pamporovo. Flights to Sofia will depart three times a week from 11th December with fares from £33.99 one way. Sofia is also regarded as an up and coming city break destination and is a popular entry point for second home owners in Bulgaria.

“These two new routes from Manchester are further proof that there is demand for direct low-fare services from the North West to Europe. Geneva has proved an extremely popular destination from all across the UK and it's great that we can now replicate that success from Manchester. The Bulgarian capital, Sofia, is also expected to be popular as more people discover what the city and its surrounding areas have to offer,” says easyJet UK commercial manager, Carly Brear.

As part of its new winter schedule low cost airline easyJet is also launching flights from Liverpool airport to Innsbruck and from Edinburgh airport to Geneva. Favourite city break destinations Paris and Krakow are also available from Edinburgh, while passengers from Belfast airport can explore Prague and Venice.
