More intercontinental flights from Frankfurt

More intercontinental flights are set to launch from Frankfurt airport this winter.

Frankfurt airport has released details regarding its winter flight schedules, confirming that there will be 920 intercontinental departures every week, representing a 6.7 per cent increase.

The seasonal timetable, which will come into effect on October 28th, will feature a total of 4,220 passenger flights every week.

There will be 665 domestic flights taking off from Frankfurt every week and 2,635 services within Europe.

A number of new offerings will be available from the German hub this winter, including six weekly flights to Orlando and three services a week to Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan, all provided by Lufthansa.

The flag-carrying airline will also commence its new connection to Argentine capital Buenos Aires, which will be its longest non-stop flight, covering a distance of 11,500km in 13.5 hours.

United Airlines will begin daily services from Frankfurt to Los Angeles in December, while Brazilian airline TAM will travel to Sao Paulo on a daily basis.
