Southampton Airport nominated for prestigious award
Southampton Airport has been shortlisted for the Airport of the Year award at the forthcoming TTG Travel Awards 2009.
The award ceremony will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on September 22, 2009, and brings together market leaders from across the travel industry.
Lucy Huxley, editor of TTG, said: "We had a record number of entries this year, demonstrating the resilience of the travel industry in this recession, so any firm which is shortlisted can feel very proud. Entrants are rated by the travel agents they work with, before being judged by panels of industry experts. Winners truly deserve to be named the best in our industry."
Kevin Brown, managing director of Southampton Airport, was delighted with the nomination: "These awards are regarded as a universal benchmark of quality within the travel industry.
"Southampton Airport really focuses upon providing an easy, fast and friendly service to ensure every passenger breezes through the airport. This, together with the airport being named in top in Europe for customer service in the ACI Awards, really demonstrates our commitment to putting the passenger first."
