Ryanair opens ski bookings

Ryanair has unveiled its ski programme for the coming winter and claims to offer the most routes from the UK of any of the low-cost carriers.

This winter, the low-cost carrier will run 58 direct routes from the UK to airports close to European ski resorts, giving people the chance to get on the slopes without having to spend too much money.

The airline unveiled direct flights to European ski resorts from UK airports including Glasgow, Liverpool, East Midlands, Bristol, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Blackpool and Doncaster.

"Our gateway airports are convenient and situated for easy access to the resorts that skiers want to go to. Getting to famous French resorts such as Val D'Isere, Meribel and Courcheval is so simple from Grenoble," explained Ryanair's head of sales and marketing, Sinead Finn.

"With flights from all over the UK to ski gateways such as Grenoble, Salzburg, Friedrichshafen, Turin, Milan and Barcelona, it's never been easier to go skiing or snowboarding.

"We recognise the unprecedented demand for ski flights from the UK, which is why we've got more destinations served from more UK airports than ever before."

To celebrate the lead-up to the ski season, Ryanair also announced that it would offer flights to ski resorts for only the airport charges and tax.
