Glasgow International airport
Glasgow International airport has been named a finalist in the Best Airport category at the HolidayExtras.com Customers' Awards 2010.
Owned and operated by BAA, Glasgow International is Scotland's principal starting point for long-haul travel, offering year-round flights to Cananda, the US, the Gulf and more.
"Everyone was very helpful."
Since opening in 1966, the airport, which has only one terminal and one main runway, has developed substantially into one of the UK's busiest travel hubs. More than seven million travellers passed through the airport in 2009, heading overseas to more than 90 worldwide destinations.
Glasgow International is another airport that has grand plans for the future. With investments looking to make access to the airport safer and easier, improved signage to make navigation simpler, and the introduction of special provisions for travellers with reduced mobility, the airport is investing wisely in an effort to meet and exceed the expectations of all travellers.
